A new type of public bathhouse "Soyu" entrusted with the regeneration of the spa town

The Kaga Katayamazu City Spa is a new type of spa facility built on the improved site of a former hot spring inn in a spa resort with a long and distinguished history. Its purpose is to attract new visitors to the city and at the same time provide local residents with a venue to gather and communicate. A long approach path extending towards the lake leads into the elongated glass-paneled building, which is composed of an entrance hall and a tourism exchange facility. On the first floor, there are two baths located at each end of the building. The one facing the lake creates an impression that the edge of the bathtub merges with the waters of the lake. The other bath, which faces inland, is enveloped in the verdant green of the forest. The terrace on the second floor is linked with a walking path around the lake, creating a public space open to the natural environment.
